An intimate event with the Mandolins in Brisbane, Queensland's foremost mandolin and guitar ensemble. It comprises of a group of enthusiastic players of mandolins, mandolas, guitars and double bass and is conducted by Allan Hall or Nathan Aspinall.


Founded in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1998, MIB plays a varied repertoire from renaissance to contemporary. MIB not only continues the well-established traditions of Italian mandolin music, but also performs classical, folk-inspired and popular music from all the continents of the world. 


Enjoy the beautiful setting at Brisbane’s oldest surviving residence dates which from 1846 when it was constructed for Patrick Leslie who had first settled on the Darling Downs in 1840. Over the years, Newstead has evolved from a simple Colonial Georgian cottage into a sprawling homestead with intricate balustrade, spacious verandahs and a vista that incorporates the Brisbane River, undulating parkland, elements of the Breakfast Creek Heritage Precinct and the changing suburbs of Hamilton, Bowen Hills, Bulimba and Newstead.
