Mambo Italiano - Brass goes Latin as Brisbane Brass celebrates Italian Week. Since its formation in 1981 Brisbane Brass has been one of Queensland's premier A Grade Brass Bands being at the forefront of Brass Banding in Queensland and having won numerous State Championships and Regional Competitions. The Band has a delightful blend of youth and experience with many of its members being former National Champions or either former or current State Champions on their respective instruments.

The Band has performed with many well known artists including world renowned euphonium soloists the Childs Brothers, English cornet virtuosos Alan Morrison, Russell Gray and Roger Webster as well as our very own James Morrison, Don Burrows, lyric tenor Thomas Edmunds and flautist Jane Rutter.

In 1997 the Band played a major role in the Brisbane premiere of Giuseppe Verdi's grand opera AIDA. In 1999 the Band hosted the Malmo Brass Band from Sweden in the Brisbane leg of its Australian tour and performed in concert with the Malmo Band. In 2001 the Band travelled to Mount Gambier to participate in the Centenary of Federation Band Festival and in 2002 the Band hosted the Danbury Brass Band from the United States on the Brisbane leg of its Australasian tour.
