Celebrate all things Italian with Mandolins in Brisbane playing favourites like Santa Lucia, O Sole Mio and Funiculi Funicula.

Mandolins in Brisbane (MIB) is Queensland's foremost mandolin and guitar ensemble. It comprises two orchestras, Brisbane Mandolin Orchestra (BMO) and the Queensland Mandolin Orchestra (QMO). Both these orchestras are complimented by enthusiastic players of mandolins, mandolas, guitars and double bass.

 

The Queensland Mandolin Orchestra (QMO) is conducted by Nathan Aspinall and led by Marissa Carroll. Players audition for a role in QMO and practice is as needed for the various concerts throughout the year. Founded in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1998, Mandolins in Brisbane plays a varied reportoire from renaissance to contemporary. Both orchestras not only continue the well established traditions of traditional italian music, but also perform classical, folk inspired and popular music from all the continents of the world.
