Amadeus Orchestra's An Italian Affair - FREE Concert

Opening the program with the William Tell Overture, Amadeus Orchestra will offer a feast of popular classical Italian music at Roma Street Parkland Amphitheatre.  From sweeping overtures to breathtaking arias, the small orchestra with a big sound will entertain with a program including works by Rossini, Verdi, Vivaldi and Puccini. Guest artists, soprano Alison Saunders will sing Rossini's 'Una Voce Poco Fa' and Mascagni's 'Intermezzo and tenor Iain Henderson will sing well loved Italian arias 'Nessun Dorma' and 'La Donne e Mobile'. The audience is invited to join the singers in the concluding piece which will be the Italian National Anthem.

The Amadeus Orchestra

 

The Amadeus Orchestra is a Brisbane, Queensland, based orchestra available for weddings, events, corporate functions and parties.

We combine a diverse repertoire, ranging from great classical works to lighter compositions, with excellent musicianship.The ensemble is comprised of strings, wind instruments, trumpet, horn and voice.

 

Our classically trained musicians are dedicated to the entertainment and enrichment of life in Brisbane through the highest quality musical performances.


Our Conductor

 

Lachlan holds Bachelor of Music (vocal performance), Bachelor of Arts (French) and Graduate Diploma of Education (secondary) from the University of Queensland.Lachlan, orchestra conductor

 

As well as conducting the Amadeus Orchestra, Lachlan is the musical director for Southern Cross Voices and Union College Choir. the Queensland State Manager for Musica Viva Australia. He is also the rehearsal assistant and administrator for the UQ Chorale.

 

Lachlan believes both the appreciation and the making of music should be a part of everybody’s life no matter of age or ability. With a generous helping of humour and laughter, he applies this ethos to all his work as a conductor, performer, administrator and teacher.

 

Lachlan enjoys performance in all its guises and has been engaged as an MC for various community events, functions and ceremonies. He also continues to perform as a comic baritone in cabaret style performances. ?
