RACE OVERVIEW
RACE RULES: Appropriately declared the ‘FUN’ factor.
NB: Judges of sober constitution empowered to strictly monitor rules and safety procedures.
The inaugural ‘10 Commandments’ of the Vittoria Coffee - Brisbane International Waiters Race are as follows:
- Prior to race commencement participants must submit a signed ‘Enter@Own Risk’ Declaration!
- Participants must ‘Power Walk’ only..No running, skateboarding or tripping up other opponents!
- Strict Corporate attire ..laddered hoisery prohibited .. waiters with ladders deemed ‘Hazardous’!
- Polite smile to be portrayed throughout ..ugly smiles to be reserved for rude customers only!
- Sensible shoes encouraged ..strict penalties enforced for tying opponents shoe laces together!
- One hand restricted behind back..no obscene finger gestures to competitors behind one’s rear!
- Non-alcoholic beverages in hard plastic glasses only..intoxicated, glass smugglers disqualified!
- NO adhesives hidden under subject glasses .. ‘Tray cheat’ tattoo administered upon dismissal!
- Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence entered into .. unless of course accompanied by a generous charitable donation to the Hear and Say Centre!
- The event organiser reserves the right to update these rules upon discretion ..or appropriate charitable bribery .. preferably anonymous for donor’s protection!
RACE DESCRIPTION:
- A designated ‘Waiters Race’ course with Start and Finish arena in the Queen Street Mall.
- Welcome address, Sponsor promotions Charity profile, Race commentary, Music & Award Ceremony announcements projected throughout the event by a PA system.
- Length of course = approx 1000m
- Start/Finish point to be identified with significant Major Sponsor signage.
- 50 Hospitality teams will race a 2 participant x 2-leg relay.
