Concert of the Italian pop/rock band TRIM ~ Uncut tour!

Concert of Italian Pop Rock Band TRIMDirect from Rome, TRIM will perform in Brisbane and Cairns as part of their Australian 'Down Under' tour. Contemporary Music Band “TRIM” which has played in many international cities featured recently in September 2006 at the Cultural Capital of Europe Festival in Greece. They have their own Repertoire in Italian. TRIM is also a covers band which play everything from Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Queen. Italian Week is proud to present TRIM in a FREE concert at Southbank Parklands. Dance Theatre Piece: “...Arrivi  ...Partenze” (presented) by DADAdance

A dance company which is run by an Italian, Boris Bivona, who lives in Australia “DADA DANCE” which has choreographed a contemporary piece called “Arrivi Partenze”, inspired by the phenomenon of Italian immigration in Australia in XXI Century will exhibit at the Italian Week. The choreographer is well known around the world on an international level and has produced many high-level artistic pieces. Once again this will be presented during Italian Week.“DADAdance”, A dance theatre company created by Boris Bivona, an Italian who lives in Australia, will be staging the premiere of a contemporary dance piece titled “...Arrivi ...Partenze”, produced by Alessandro Sorbello and inspired by the phenomenon of Italian immigration in Australia in XXI Century this newly created work will be performed during the Italian Week. The choreographer is well known around the world on an international level and has produced many high-level artistic pieces.

Jaider De Oliveira performs his latest composition 'Moving' live.
Jaider De Oliveira, singer, producer, performer, guitarist, percussionist, teacher and entertainer. Jaider will perform 'Moving' as part of '...Arrivi ... Partenze'.  Brazilian born and trained, Jaider came to Australia in 1970. The virtuoso guitarist has performed extensively in Australia and Brazil and is now based in Brisbane. Jaider De Oliveira, singer, producer, performer, guitarist, percussionist, teacher and entertainer. Jaider will perform 'Moving' as part of '...Arrivi ... Partenze'.  Brazilian born and trained, Jaider came to Australia in 1970.

The virtuoso guitarist has performed extensively in Australia and Brazil and is now based in Brisbane. After creative discussions with the choreographer and producer of '...Arrivi ... Partenze' Jaider has agreed to incorporate his original composition into the performance.

Official Reception for the Festa della Repubblica 

Wade Gregory winner of the 2006  Pellegrino Scholarship for further education in Italy for Australian Citizens and Italian Citizens permanently residing in Queensland On the 2nd of June at 6.30 pm, Dr. Francesco Capecchi, Italian Consul to Queensland and Northern Terrritory will host an invitation only official reception for the Festa della Repubblica at Southbank.

The evening will include a Jazz concert by pianist Wade Gregory, winner of the 2006  Pellegrino Scholarship for further education in Italy for Australian Citizens and Italian Citizens permanently residing in Queensland (I.R.E.).

Cav. Stephen J. Pellegrino, in conjunction with the Consulate of Italy in Brisbane, is offering also for the year 2010 a scholarship to Australian citizens and Italian citizens permanently residing in Queensland. As commonly known, from 2007 the scholarship privileges Italian and Australian musicians and takes place within the Italian Week, the official celebration of the Italian National Day.
